    Just as the jaws of the beast clamped shut, Tom's hand retracted the duo out of it's range. They both heard a shriek and turned back towards the monster. They saw Raindrop on the ground, rendered unconscious with a blast of electricity. Tom and Xam watched in horror as she was lifted into the air, a green energy swirling around her. The same glow was coming from the creature's hands, as a strange hissing dialect could be heard, as if it were another language. Xam flew through the air to stop what was happening, but he was too late. Raindrop's body began to steadily turn to stone. Raindrop's petrified body lowered into a cage made of mystical energy. While they were distracted by the terrible sight, black tentacles wrapped themselves around Xam and Tom. A pink glow began to travel from them, and down the tentacles like an electric cable. After a few minutes the glow faded away. What they couldn't have guessed, was that the beast fed off of the love of anyone it came across, and the glow represented the love that Tom and Xam shared for eachother. Once the extraction was complete, the duo felt drained, unable to put up much of a struggle. With a sickening slurp, the sludge of the monster's body began to suck them inside of it! Xam's last sight before passing out, was slimy tendrils covering his face...

    Xam woke up to the feeling of being dragged along a stone road. He saw it was Tom, who was dragging him by his legs. Xam kicked himself free, and stood up. "Could have waited for me to wake up!" Xam said, a hateful tone in his voice as he dusted the dirt off of his favorite jacket. Tom merely gave him a scowl, and continued on his way. Xam followed, and took in his surroundings. They were walking down a stone path, with grassy hills by their sides. However there were crumbled buildings around them, and huge puddles of a rippling black ooze. He then saw that the sky and everything in the furthest distance of his view seemed to be made of the same gunk. "Where the hell are we?" he asked, as Tom gave an annoyed grumble. "Do I really have to spell it out for you? We're inside the monster, genius!" They then came across a lake of the black sludge, and saw an arm sticking out of it. Tom reached out and attempted to yank the person free, but all he got was a corpse that had been melted to the bone. "Ok, don't touch the goop." Tom muttered to himself, as Xam rolled his eyes at the obvious statement.

    As they came across the plaza of Lagopolis, they could hear what could only be described as a cross between a whisper and a hiss. As Xam looked around for the source, he suddenly heard a splash as he stepped in something wet. He had to keep himself from losing his lunch, as he saw that he had walked straight into a puddle of blood. "I don't like this...I hear something..." Suddenly, hundreds of creatures dropped down from the ceiling! As they landed, Xam could see that they had a body that vaguely resembled a lagomorph like himself, but with massive eyes, and a slit nose. They each also had sharp claws, and a partially robotic arms. They also carried around shields that seemed to be shaped like buzzsaws. They were black, with dark green eyes. The undersides of their ears were a faded blue, as well as their shields. "Great. Fanboys." Xam sarcastically quipped as he took to the air, flinging thermal grenades that set the creatures on fire, While Tom began firing at them with every gun he had. Xam didn't even bother to warn Tom as a grenade came flying towards him...
